Breakdown of Classes

Week One: The Hidden Beauty in Your One Wonderful Life
In this session we will silence the inner critic and address our fears as we open the door to writing and telling your valuable story. Using various techniques, you will begin to unlock your memories as a storyteller.

Week Two: Powerful Imagery
We will learn about powerful imagery as we tie emotions to our stories creating word pictures our readers cannot forget. You will have the opportunity to write a story about a possession you value.

Week Three: Digging Deeper
What do we share? What do we leave unsaid? What do people really need to know? We will learn to drive one story forward as we jump into summary, scenes, and reflections.

Week Four: The Hard Places of Your Story
How do we write about the hard places in our lives? How do we include thoughts on faith, suffering, and redemption? We will ask these questions and explore three ways to tell a wounded story with hope.

Week Five: Polishing Your Story Until It Shines
We will learn valuable editing techniques so you can share an engaging story that will interest your readers/listeners from beginning to end. You will learn why a professor once told me, “You need to kill the robins.”

Week Six: Celebrate You!

In the final week, you (and everyone else) will have the option to choose and read a personal story with the class.
