7 Things My Dog Taught Me

Mollie, our canine hiking companion, died in July. She was a scaredy pup when we got her, afraid of her own shadow, after being abandoned on the streets as a youngster.

We hiked all over Arizona together, creating memories of beautiful places and times in God’s wonder. She is featured in many of my stories.

Reflecting on our time with her, I jotted down seven things Mollie taught me.

Seven Things My Dog Taught Me:

  1. Troubled beginnings don’t get the final say on who you will become.

  2. Kindness and love can erase fear.

  3. Bagels are necessary trail food.

  4. Thirteen years is not enough time.

  5. Unconditional love is real.

  6. Side wanderings are often the best adventures.

  7. Greet people like they are your world.
