On Small Days

Piglet:

Oh Owl, I don't mean to c-c-c-complain, but I'm afraid. I'm scared.

Owl:

Now, now Piglet. Chin up and all that sort of thing...Be brave, little Piglet.

Piglet:

It's hard to be b-b-b-brave when your'e such a small animal.

                                  (from Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day)

Have you ever had a small day?A not very brave day?

On that-sort-of-thing days, I find myself here:

O Lord, my heart is not proud, or my eyes haughty;

Nor do I involve myself in great matters,

Or in things too difficult for me.

Surely I have composed and quieted my soul;

Like a weaned child rests against his mother,

My soul is like a weaned child within me.  --Psalm 131:1-2

I am currently memorizing this scripture with a group of women

for small days,

not very brave days,

and all other days in between.
