Praying For A Miracle

Miracles.

I'm preaching this Sunday about a miracle.

A man who was an invalid for 38 years, who lay by a pool called mercy, who waited for an angel to come and stir the waters so he could be healed. (See John 5, but that's all I'm saying because I'm not writing any spoilers here).

Miracles.

We all like the thought of a miracle, but none of us wants to find ourselves in a position where we need one.

When do we get desperate?

After the first year? The fifth? The thirty-eighth?

When cancer is stage one? Stage three? Stage four?

I find myself pondering this thought, as so many people around me fight with disease:

To the Infinite, all finites are the same. - Mark Batterson

There is not a prayer meter in heaven which places some prayers in the Too Difficult Pile. There is no such thing as a prayer that is too hard for the One who created everything.

I am crying out for a miracle.

(More than one miracle, actually.)

How about you?
