Summer Bucket List

Summertime at our home is a time of relaxed schedules and lazier days because of the heat. Our life remains full, but the time constraints are more fluid without the demands of school and work. In that fullness, I want to explore some new adventures and experiences in the next few months. It will a different kind of summer because Zach, the organizer of nerf gun wars and ultimate frisbee will be in Africa, leaving the house to his sisters who enjoy hours on the computer or with a good book.

I wonder if I will miss the odors of growing boys and stinky shoes or will the aroma of scented lotion and body sprays be a welcome change?

Since I'm a list-making type of gal, I jotted a few things down that I hope to do this summer. This is in addition to the big ticket items - helping Kevin with a political campaign, sending Zach off to Africa and directing a music camp for one week in June.

Lynne's Summer Bucket List

1. Shake hands with Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland.

2. Fix one new recipe a week with my girls.

3. Enter at least one poetry contest and one short story contest.

4. Bribe, threaten, coerce Katelyn to get her driver's license (or buy her a bike!)

5. Take some day trips to escape the heat (this includes the new aquarium in Tempe, a Sunday in Tucson visiting Nate and Rachel's church family and a day hiking away from the valley - maybe Mount Humphrey in Flagstaff or Box Canyon in Payson.)

How about you? What are your summer plans? Any adventures, new destinations or fun activities? Give me at least one item, because I'm curious who really reads this blog - ha!
