Do You Live in A Fault Zone?

We saw two signs while we were driving in Hawaii near Volcano National Park. With the recent news of the earthquake in Japan on my mind, I viewed the first sign with a little bit of trepidation.

My thought when reading this sign:

What should you do if you see a crack in the road? Back up? Press your foot on the gas? Stay where you are?

I'm still not sure, because, thankfully, we saw no cracks in the road while we drove through the area.I don't know a lot about geology, but I do understand this much about fault zones: they are unstable and unpredictable. And when they are upset, damage results. (And in Hawaii, there is lava to consider.)

This is the second sign we saw:

Which makes me ask the question:

Where are you living?

A fault zone?

Or a fault free zone?

When cracks appear in your life, what comes spewing out?
