Oreo Cookies

When you eat an oreo, do you twist off one of the cookie layers and eat the frosting first?

Do you eat the entire cookie in one bite?

Do you dip it in milk?

Have you ever eaten an entire stack of oreos?

There are several ways you can eat an oreo, but one thing is obvious to any person who has shopped for oreos at the store: there are many varieties to choose from. When I was a child, you could only buy the regular ones, full of chocolate goodness with a creamy white center.

There are many more choices today.

Oreos now come in: Regular, Double Stuf, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Cool Mint, Fudge Sundae, Halloween (and Christmas and Spring and Shrek), Reduced Fat , Golden, Golden Chocolate, Golden Double Stuf , Oreo Fudgees, Oreo Fudge Rings, Oreo Cakesters, Oreo Fun Stix, Sugar Free Oreos, Mini Oreos, Oreo Thin Crisps, Oreo Snack Cakes...

This Christmas I purchased peppermint Oreos for the first time.

January seems to be the time that most of us do some evaluating about our lives. We talk about priorities and choices. We make resolutions. There are hundreds of ways we can spend our time - most of them good.

Hopefully as we live out our daily choices in a culture of "You Can Always Do One More Thing", we won't find that we took up so much space in our brains deciding which Oreos to buy that we had no space left to focus on loving God and loving His people.

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him... Psalm 37:5
