Valentine's Day Memory Scrapbook

For my series on legacy story gathering, I thought it would be fun to include an album that could be given as a Valentine's Day Memory Scrapbook. The album could work for another special occasion as well.

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways," Elizabeth Barrett Browning penned in the 1800's.

For our 30th wedding anniversary, I decided to put together a digital scrapbook for my husband. I created a list of things I loved:

  • I love that in your glance I feel chosen by you once again.

  • I love that your shoulders are wide enough to carry the responsibility of caring for our family, yet your knees know where to go when the load is too great.

  • I love that you have shared life with me when we have walked through some of the hardest things imaginable.

I collected a handful of photos:

  • From our engagement and wedding

  • From our trips and vacations

  • From everyday life

I scanned this photos into a program on Shutterfly for an 8" x 8" digital album. I chose a simple black-paged theme with white lettering and put the pages together. I used very few embellishments, letting the photos and words speak for themselves.

Finally, I went back and added a few facts and dates to the photos. I would like to think I will always remember that a certain photo was taken in New York City in 2007, but I know better.

As I said earlier, this style of album would be great as a Valentine's Day Memory Scrapbook!! It could also be used for other family members or friends by changing the theme and title:

  • Ways You make Me Smile

  • What Makes You Amazing

  • Words of Wisdom from my Dad
